Since April 2019 the National Minimum Wage or NMW has been determined to be 8.21 Pound Sterling per hour for the apprentices. The expected age of the applicants for apprenticeships is under 19 for the first year. The age of 19 or above can also be tolerable. To be entitled to the NMW or National minimum age the apprentices should be aged 25 or above and they must not be in the first year of apprenticeship. Though most of the apprentices get more wages than the above mentioned it is considered to be the legal minimum wage per hour.
According to the estimation by the Apprenticeship Pay Survey 2016, the average gross hourly wages received by the apprentices of Great Britain was around 7.70 GBP per hour for the apprentices who were in level 2 or 3.
